I’m an American writer and editor in Zürich. I’ve written about many subjects over the years, including foreign policy, religion, free expression, right- and left-wing authoritarianism, identity politics, film, global poverty, animal welfare, and liberalism.
You’ll find my work in Haaretz, MSNBC, the Daily Beast, Quillette, The Bulwark, Persuasion, South China Morning Post, New Eastern Europe, American Purpose, RealClearDefense, Editor & Publisher, Stanford Social Innovation Review, New York Daily News, Arc Digital, Areo Magazine, The Kansas City Star, and many other outlets. You can also check out my new Substack, Notes on Globalism.
My first book, How Hitchens Can Save the Left: Rediscovering Fearless Liberalism in an Age of Counter-Enlightenment, was published last year. Here are a couple of reviews:
“The Liberal Internationalist” by the foreign correspondent Michael J. Totten in Quillette
“Christopher Hitchens, the Conservative Marxist” by the essayist Ralph Leonard in Areo
In 2015, I received a master’s in journalism from the University of Kansas. From 2016 to 2018, I was the opinion editor at The Topeka Capital-Journal, a daily newspaper in the capital of Kansas. For the past six years, I’ve worked as a researcher, editor, and writer for brands, marketing agencies, and other clients. My client work has been published in Forbes, Entrepreneur, Inc., L.A. Biz, Dark Reading, HR Dive, and elsewhere.
